Who We Are and Why We Do What We Do

At Skeena Energy Solutions (SES), a project of the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition (SWCC), we understand energy as more than just electricity, it’s the lifeblood of thriving communities. It lives in warm homes, healthy food systems, cultural expression, it drives our economy and the ability to live well in harmony with the land.

SWCC’s mission is to cultivate a sustainable future from a sustainable environment rooted in our culture and a thriving wild salmon ecosystem.

At SES, we work to support regenerative, community-led solutions across the full spectrum of energy: housing, food security, and culture. Our focus is the rural and remote Upper Skeena Region where resilience runs deep, but infrastructure and funding often fall short.

We serve as a conduit and connective tissue in helping communities access the tools, resources, partnerships, and funding they need to meet their clean energy goals. We walk with communities, not ahead of them, supporting the visions they already hold, and helping bring them to life through collaborative planning, technical support, and sustained relationship-building.

Rooted in the Skeena and shaped by the land, we honor both Indigenous and settler histories in our region. We are committed to regenerating what has been lost, revitalizing local systems, and ensuring that energy transitions uplift everyone. This is not just our work, this is our home.

This is our goal and promise:

To move with integrity.

To support, not steer the work we do with community .

To connect, collaborate, and co-create.

And to help build a future where the energy of a place reflects its people: resilient, rooted, and radiant.
